A quick painting that was based on the 15th century dutch still life's, in particular Pieter Claesz. The artist's would use objects to portray messages, usually concerning the briefness of human life. Obvious objects such as skulls or wilting flowers would be used, but also subtle ones such as a half peeled lemon (like life, sweet in appearance, but bitter to taste).

The King

A few sketches of a King character done for a friend.

The Un-Holy Grail

These are some pages of a book I put together outlining an idea for a t.v series.
The basic premise was a group a good Nuns who battle against a group of rebel Nuns.
The idea was meant to be a lighthearted parody on modern day religion.

Jobs the Word!

This is a short infomercial I did for a recruitment business. The brief was to produce a "Catch me if you Can' style animation explaining how the business works.

Made with illustrator and after effects.

A bit of storyboarding!

Found the old storyboard animatic that I did for my Pigeon film! Not the most exciting thing in the world but it helps give a good impression of how the story was progressing.

The Beginning of something a new!

Ive just started work on a small animation, and this is my initial thought process. Makes little sense, but sometimes the quick sketches turn out to be the most useful, so will keep posting as the project progresses!

Painted Hands!

Had the urge to paint my hand like the sky. Then didn't know quite what to do, so found some quotes to make the image seem worldly and wise, and this is the result...

Life Drawing's

I have an obsession with Life drawing. No matter how many times I do it, I never finish a drawing that I'm satisfied with. I find it frustrating more than enjoyable, but I still enjoy doing it!

Arabian Nights

Some old photos of an Arabian themed set I made from all sorts of bits. Looks naff from a birds-eye view, but up close its convincing.

The simple Grrr necessities

NO! Im the Walrus!

Deer'y me!

Drawing in Biro, then scanning, then fiddling with Photoshop

A few stills

Because my After Effects skills weren't great when making it, the finished result doesn't quite fit the one that was in my head.

So, looking at stills is much more satisfying!

The same can be said about these Pencil tests. Before the drawings were scanned or altered in photoshop, a quick snap was taken just to test the movement, which I think gives them more life than the finished film...

Let them Eat cake! (or pigeon)

To begin, I thought what better way than to show my film from Uni; 3 minutes of hand drawn pleasure and wrist cramp.

A brave and new step into the abyss of blogging!

Albeit later than every other human with an internet connection, today I take a step out of the non-wired wilderness and plunge into the online abyss. Which is best I cant decide! But this shall be my blog anyways...
